🐻❄️ WHAT WE TAKE: ALASKA JUNK REMOVAL
When you live in the Last Frontier, you need a junk hauler who understands the complexity of solid waste management, from the Anchorage Bowl to the Mat-Su Valley and beyond. JUNK-RAT is that team.
We take almost everything! If it’s non-hazardous and two people can safely lift it, we can haul it away. We then ensure that every item follows the proper local disposal rules, keeping as much material out of those precious Alaska landfills as possible.
Junk We Haul (The Full List)
| Residential & Commercial Junk | Appliances (White Goods) | Electronics & E-Waste | Specialty & Construction Debris |
| Furniture: Sofas, Mattresses, Tables, Desks, Bookcases | Large Appliances: Washers, Dryers, Stoves, Water Heaters | Computers & Monitors: PCs, Laptops, CRTs (Tube TVs/Monitors) | Scrap Metal: Piping, Fencing, Grills, Old Motors (fluids drained) |
| Bulk Trash: Moving boxes, Storage Cleanouts, Attic/Basement Clutter | Refrigerators & Freezers: We handle the necessary CFC (Freon) removal fee and process, as required by local facilities (like Anchorage). Doors will be removed for safety. | Televisions: Flat screens, older tube-style TVs (Note: Anchorage limits are strict on free disposal). | Tires: We haul car, truck, and even large off-road tires. Although Alaska has no specific statewide ban, we prioritize recycling to save landfill capacity. |
| Yard Debris: Branches, Brush, Land Clearing Waste (Cut to manageable lengths) | HVAC Equipment: Air Conditioners, Furnaces | Batteries: All types, including Car, Lithium-Ion (Lipo), and NiCad. These are delivered to designated Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facilities. | Construction Debris (C&D): Concrete, Asphalt, Drywall, Brick, Clean Wood |
⚠️ Important Alaska Disposal Notes
The sheer distance and cost of waste management in Alaska mean that regulations can be hyper-local and very strict.
- Hazardous Waste: Alaska does not have permitted landfills for federally regulated hazardous waste. We cannot legally haul the following materials. We will direct you to your local municipal Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off sites (e.g., in Anchorage, Mat-Su):
- Wet/Liquid Paint, Solvents, Thinners
- Gasoline, Diesel, Oil, Antifreeze
- Pesticides, Pool Chemicals
- Ammunition, Explosives (Call 911 for emergencies)
- Asbestos: Asbestos-Containing Material (ACM) is regulated and requires a detailed building survey for identification and has specific handling rules. It is only accepted at select landfills on certain days and times (e.g., Anchorage Regional Landfill). We will advise on its removal but cannot haul regulated ACM without proper certification and containment.
- Self-Luminous Signs: Signs containing radioactive elements (often found in older exit signs) are strictly prohibited from landfills and must be returned to the manufacturer.
