🌻 WHAT WE TAKE: KANSAS
🎯 Straightforward Hauling Across the Heartland
From Kansas City to Wichita to Topeka, JUNK-RAT provides complete junk removal services, making disposal easy even in areas where municipal services have strict limits. We ensure that your items—especially bulky metals, appliances, and e-waste—are handled properly and delivered to the correct disposal or recycling facility, adhering to the guidelines set by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE).
🛋️ Home, Office, and Garage Junk
Got a basement full of clutter or an old office cleanout? We haul it all!
- Furniture: Sofas, chairs, tables, cabinets, desks, and shelving units.
- Mattresses & Box Springs: Old bedding, which many local services limit or charge extra for. (Note: Sofa sleepers often require the metal frames to be removed and handled separately, which we manage.)
- Appliances (White Goods): Washing machines, dryers, stoves, and dishwashers.
- Yard & Organic Waste: Branches, brush, leaves, and general yard debris. We ensure materials are properly bundled and separated for composting or processing.
- Bulk Trash & Clutter: Cardboard, textiles, toys, tools, and other miscellaneous household items.
🔧 Specialized & Regulated Materials
Kansas requires specific care for materials that shouldn’t go into a standard landfill.
- Electronics (E-Waste): Computers, monitors, TVs, printers, and other electronic scrap. While the KDHE permits landfilling in some cases, we prioritize recycling these items to reclaim metals and divert hazardous components from the municipal solid waste stream. (Note: CRT monitors/TVs may incur a processing fee due to their lead content.)
- Metal & Scrap Iron: Anything that is mostly metal—including large, non-functioning appliances, water heaters, and exercise equipment—is taken directly to a local scrap metal facility.
- Construction & Demolition (C&D) Debris: Non-hazardous waste from remodeling projects, such as wood, drywall, concrete, brick, and roofing materials. We transport this to approved C&D landfills or recycling sites.
🚫 Items We Cannot Take
Like all licensed haulers, we must comply with state and federal laws regarding hazardous materials.
- Hazardous Waste: Liquid paint, motor oil, antifreeze, cleaning chemicals, batteries, and corrosive materials. These must be taken to a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility (like the Sedgwick County HHW facility).
- Tires: Due to state restrictions, tires require special disposal and fees.
- Friable Asbestos and Drums/Containers of any kind.
